The DS Automobiles Italian Open (Italian Open) is the main men’s Italian Golf tournament. Established in 1925, it is part of the European Tour, the organization that manages the main men’s professional golf tours in Europe, and is characterized by being a competition of the highest level that attracts more and more Italian and foreign athletes.

This year the competition will be held in Rome at the beautiful Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, which from 29 September to 1 October 2023 will host the prestigious Ryder Cup, the most important international golf event that will challenge the United States and Europe, who sees her competing as a team. The competition is held every two years, alternately in an American or European location.

The 2023 edition of the Ryder Cup will be number 44 and is the first time it will be played in Italy; the two teams will be composed of the 12 strongest golfers of Europe and the United States, that will clash in the first two days of the race in a session of four fourballs and a session of four Foursome. The last day of the Trophy will be reserved for 12 individual matches. The tournament does not have a prize pool, but the winners will receive the cup that belonged to Samuel Ryder, the English entrepreneur who in 1927 donated the trophy, in addition to the honor of victory.
